8 week iRest® Mindfulness Meditation Course

I would love to invite you to attend the 8-week Integrative Restoration iRest® Yoga Nidra Mindfulness Meditation Course. This course will run for 8 consecutive weeks. Next Course Dates To Be Confirmed

What will each 90 minute session include?

Each session will begin with an orientation introducing the week’s theme. This taught and experiential aspect may involve a reflection and/or short meditation to explore the relevant step of the 10-step meditation protocol, to help deepen your understanding of the topic. This will be followed by a longer guided Integrative Restoration iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation. After the practice, there will be an opportunity to share about your experience of the meditation should you wish to, and to hear how other group members found it. There will be time and space to ask any questions you may have and to be given the coming week’s home practice.

What are the themes of each week?

Each week we will focus on a different aspect of the iRest® 10-step meditation protocol and the practices offered will help deepen your understanding and experience of them. Themes include exploring the inner resource, intention and heart felt desire, body sensing and breath sensing, emotions, beliefs, joy, pure being and integration.

How much is the course? And what does the price include? Are any discounts available?

The course investment is £122.50 inclusive of 10.5 hours of tuition, a PDF of The Integrative Restoration Institute’s 28-page Introduction to iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation Workbook, and audio recordings of the meditations offered for home practice. If you would like to attend and are not in a financial position to pay the full course fees, do not hesitate to get in touch. I want these teachings to be accessible to everyone who would like to learn more about yoga, mindfulness and meditation.

Who is offering the course?

I am an Integrative Restoration iRest® Level 2 Teacher, having trained with Richard Miller, Karen Soltes and Stephanie Lopez of the iRest® Institute. I am part way through my certification journey. I have practised meditation in the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh since 2006, and took my 5-mindfulness trainings in 2007. I trained with Zen Master Julian Daizan Skinner in Zen Mindfulness Meditation in 2010-11. I first learnt to teach Yoga Nidra as part of my Minded (The Minded Institute’s) 500-hour Professional Yoga Therapy Programme, spanning from 2011-2015. This comprehensive training combined yoga therapy, psychotherapeutic holding, mindfulness and neuroscience. I qualified as a Level 2 Insight Yoga Teacher in 2021, intertwining yin yoga, psychospiritual enquiry, mindfulness and meditation. I have been studying with Sarah Powers since 2008 and I am in the process of completing my IYI certification. I have a daily meditation practice and attend the Cambridge and Heart of London Sanghas online.

What will be taught?

iRest is a meditative modern day adaptation of the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra. It is an inclusive non-secular practice which welcomes all aspects of ourselves (feelings, emotions, thoughts, beliefs, memories, images etc) as messengers to guide us back into harmony with ourselves, others and the Earth. When practiced little and often, iRest® enables you to meet each moment of your life with abiding peace and well-being, no matter how challenging life is. The 8-week course introduces you to the basic principles and 10 steps of iRest® Yoga Nidra meditation, empowering you with the tools to develop your own personal meditation practice and to incorporate the teachings in your daily life.
